I'm throwing a baby shower on Saturday morning and for the food table, I'm using a red table cloth with white polka dots.
I needed a cream color plate stand to put my polka dot plates on. I found an old metal one in the basement--totally not cute--wish I had a picture. I took it out back and spray painted it cream.
With plates:
When I got done with that, I was so excited I grabbed this picture off my wall. I've always hated the goldish frame.
I sprayed that too. I'm not loving the cream but I think it is an improvement:
Now I'm wandering my house looking for other stuff to spray. Someone stop me.

Stop. That is a patriarchal order.
Sam--unrighteous dominion.
Too bad you don't have a dog or cat to spray. They are prime candidates.
I love the red and white. So cute. The Nester would totally be proud!
This is so cute! I'm going to get a can of cream spray paint and paint dots on my red plates. And tablecloth.
That is cute--spray paint is so addicting. I don't keep it around because I would spray paint until I went too far and sprayed one of the kids!
Spray paint rocks. I once sprayed a ceiling fan to switch it from gold to silver. Last month I sprayed a glider that I wanted to match the crib. I say go for the spraying. I really like the frame. You shouldn't stop until you feel dizzy from the fumes.
They look fantastic! You are J-A-Girl! The house I'm moving into has a gnarly woven headboard in the garage. I was bugged that I have to take it to the dump but now I think I'll try spraying it and using it.
Sam,
try to figure out what I sprayed of yours...
Darling plate stand!! So cute!
I love easy-fix improvements like these! It's like you're getting all new stuff, but don't have the spending guilt, woohoo!
Back away from the spray can.....
JK the plate stand looks very cute and would it be possible to change the card frame in the picture to black? hang on don't take any advice from me I have not one creative bone in my body.
Totally proud, girl!
how about spray a bathroom cabinet, see if you like it, then you can do the kitchen. ??? ... remember to sand in between coats.
Did you ever get the window?
I would love to paint my bathroom cabinets. I'm waiting until I'm not pregnant to really get into the hard core painting. I haven't gotten the window yet.
We are long lost soul sisters. I am the queen of spray paint around here. New doorknobs and hinges, anyone?
Congratulations Brooke! You look great. I on the other hand look as though I should be having my baby anyday and I still have four months to go. Yikes...I guess I will be pulling out the velour jumpsuit after I have this little baby. Viva velour!
