10 Things I Hate About You (January)

Is anyone still out there?  I have heard from several of you wondering if I'm okay because this blog has all but died.  I always hate January but this January takes the cake.  I'm pretty sure the universe is out to get me.  That..or I just do really dumb things.  Probably both.   Here are 10 shizzy things that have happened to me this month..in no particular order.

1.  I got dropped from my health insurance.  It is a long story and involves my own stupidity.  Don't ask.

2.  I broke my nose.  No glory story here folks..just opened a door in my face  (two days after finding out I am uninsured.)

3.  I will be having surgery this week to repair my nose.  I get to pay out of pocket for it because there was nothing else I wanted to spend 2600 DOLLARS ON!

4.  I was deathly ill for most of the month.

5.  I got in a car accident in a snow storm when my brakes locked up and I slid into someone.

6.  Sammie left her skis (that are rentals) where the ski bus drops her off and Luke left his poles (also rentals).  I now get to replace both.

7.  I am pretty sure it has not gotten above 40 degrees the whole month.  Most days, it has been below 10 degrees.  Don't get me started about the smog and inversion.  It breaks my spirit.

8.  I worked out an average of one day a week for the whole month.  My sanity is hanging by a thread.

9.  I got called to be the Enrichment Coordinator for our ward.  I haven't been to Enrichment in years.

10.  I went to the dentist and found out I have four cavities.  (The best part is..I no longer have dental insurance!)

Soooo, this is why I haven't been blogging.  But I got a good feeling about February.  It can only go up from here right?

I did actually have some good things that happened this month too.  All involving John.  Come back tomorrow for a happier post!

The insurance thing is so awful. At least these are mostly problems that can be solved if you pay enough money, and no one has cancer. (You'd better hope you don't discover cancer while you're uninsured!) Once again thank you for making Utah sound so appealing.

Brooke, January really does suck for you, so sorry! I thought my month was bad, and it's mostly related to the crummy weather and the downtown Hagermann's closing. Sorry about your nose and all the extra costs. I'm excited to hear the good news.

Well...my mouth is hanging open at the Hagemann's comment. Seriously?

Sorry....you're nose was probably the kicker. What a bite. What day is the surgery? I'll bring you food!

Love you but HATE your sucky January. It can only go up!

This January has been especially rough with this insanely crappy weather, it seems like everyone is just trying to keep it together.

I'm so sorry for your insurance woes, I have had to function without it off and on through the years and it really sucks! Keep paying your tithing!

Good luck with the new calling, try to remember to keep it real instead of over the top. My ward's Enrichment nights always look like a wedding reception and it makes me crazy! I want substance!!!

OMG! You weren't exaggerating when you said things have been crazy for you lately! am so sorry!

You listed it out with your usual humor and aplomb, which I love about you. And I especially loved your label "Shizzy."

Oh, no! I'm so sorry. At least you can make light of it all. (I'm the Relief Society Meeting coordinator. That's what they are calling it these days. It's actually a great calling. Once a month is my kind of gig.

Well that sucks! I cant believe all those bad things happened to you on Jan. I hope your nose is ok and your teeth!
Come and move to Oz with John and all the kiddos... we have (mainly) free healthcare and great weather (except the fact that half my state in under water at the moment).

Only you can make me laugh about such crappy things! First off, so sorry about the calling...I must say, it's one of my most dreaded. Second, so sorry about the nose and insurance. Crazy! I have a strong feeling that Feb will be much better.

This is nothing but a steaming pile 'o' shiz. I can't believe all of this happened to one lone person. Sorry about your nose, mostly because it was cute to begin with. If you needed a little work I could work a "blessing in disguise" angle, but I got nuthin.

Enrichment is a cake calling. A million times better than den mom. Kick off the year with a swap meet like us. It was a hit.

May you get your health insurance back in a timely manner.
