The Halloween Season

Around here, Halloween is a season, not a specific day. This is how we get ready for the spookiest night of the year.

Step 1. Decorate the inside of the house.

Step 2. Put up the yard decor.

Step 3. Buy Halloween shirts. The kids talked me into buying them each two this year. I know, I'm crazy. They wear them just about every day.

Step 4. Eat all of your meals on these.

Step 5. Listen to this in the car until mom goes crazy.

Step 6. Go to Engh's pumpkin patch. Play on the pirate ship, run through the corn maze, drink hot cider. Don't buy anything.

Step 7. Buy your pumpkins at Rasmussen's pumpkin patch where the pumpkins are much cheaper and the little old men who run it are much cuter. Don't forget to get a picture of the fat baby in the pumpkins.

Step 8. Stay up late to make a Halloween gingerbread house.

Step 9. Eat a LOT of Halloween candy

Step 10. Watch this on tv

This doesn't even include the ward Halloween party, an adult Halloween party, school Halloween parties, carving pumpkins and Halloween itself!

Halloween is a great time of year. The kids love it. November is a let down since Thanksgiving is relatively boring.

Luke loves that picture of him in the hay maze b/c he is airborne, kicking the hay in Matrix-like fashion.

Where is the picture of Disneyland from last year?

Impressive post.

You are a great blogger already. I never knew you did half this stuff. A Halloween gingerbread house is a great idea. I LOVE the picture of Ryan in the pumpkins. He is all grown up and adorable! I can also finally understand the shoes you've been describing to me (his Babystyle ones, assuming that's what he's wearing). I echo Sam: impressive post . . . impressive decorations . . . impressive mom.

Great pics!! Ryan is adorable and so grown up. He is a different little baby from the last time I saw him. The kids are darling in their Halloween outfits, and your house nicely decorated. Halloween is definitely a fun time of the year.

I am loving the blog. I love FAll as well and i hate winter. Winter blues! I say that I should move each year, but then I may miss our great Fall Season and that would be a shame.

Sarah just introduced me to your blog and I am already loving it.

As for halloween, I love the anticipation and everything leading up to October 31st. The whole month of October is one big holiday!

Your intentions with the breadmaker remind me so much of my intentions with starting a blog. I finally started one a few months ago and made two entries and haven't touched it since. But I think about doing it a lot if that counts for anything. I love your blog though. You've re-motivated me for the moment so perhaps a new entry will come of it. I love your Halloween season. We should hang out in Oct. apparently b/c we've been doing a lot of the same things! Except we still don't have costumes! Yikes!
