Because There is Nothing More Romantic than a Tetanus Shot

Today is Valentines and I got this great idea to treat myself to a cheap pedicure. I went to this place called Dream Nails by my house that is run by these little Vietnamese women. Only the visit wasn't so dreamy.

Within the first two minutes of being there, the lady sliced open my heel with a razor. She then spent the next hour trying to get it to stop bleeding. Yes, I said hour. Three little ladies, speaking in a language I couldn't understand, all huddled over my injury. Then they attempted to glue the wound back together.

I will spare you the details but suffice it to say, I ended up in the ER. A doctor removed all the glue they used and redressed the wound. I received a tetinus shot and am now on a heavy antibiotic. I appreciate that the ER doc used pink dressing for Valentines.

Now that I'm home I get to enjoy these:

I hope I don't eat all of them but I make no promises.

Are you kidding me?? Please find a safer nail lady. My Deana (my nail lady) would hyperventilate over that story.

You have a great attitude...and you're right...the pink is perfect!

The next time you see Lindz ask her to tell you about an experience she had while getting a pedicure for prom. I would tell you, but you really have to hear Lindsay's accent to appreciate it.

Other than the ER (and you know how I feel about those), I hope your Valentine's Day was swell.

I NEVER go to those places anymore and yes our nail lady would FREAK out at that story. My one question is...what exactly was she doing with a razor?

AGH!!! I'm paranoid about mani-pedi places....this doesn't help!

Cute pink, but that hardly makes up for her slicing you open.

Mmmm....berries. My fave.

Go for the whole container of yummy chocolate covered berries. You totally deserve it!

I've always been nervous about those type of nail places (yet I keep going back). That's scary. Fun Valentines for you. I hope you ate lots of treats to make up for the trip to the ER.

Oh Brooke! So sorry to hear about your fiasco! Usually the little vietnamese ladies do the best job...what are the odds?

Oooh, not good. I love a good pedi, but some of the local bargain outfits are one inch above a dive - guess it is true in slc too. Am I making you feel better?

Sorry it happened on V-day. So, if it happens again, you're up to date on your Tetanus.

Good love!!! I'm sure the vietnamese jabber was very reassuring. I guess that's my last visit to Dream Nails!
