The Nesting Place

One of my all-time favorite blogs is The Nesting Place. The girl who writes the blog, or The Nester, as she is called, is a genius when it comes to home decor and all things home improvement. Not only that, she is quite possibly the funniest person I have ever stumbled upon in the blogosphere. Her slogan is "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful" and she encourages you to just take the plunge and do stuff to your home that you've been wanting to do.

The picture above is from her "Price my Space" party where she tells you what she paid for everything in her family room.

My friend Mandee introduced me to the Nester's blog when I started talking about painting my kitchen cabinets. That is a LONG post for another day. I eventually told my sister Ashley about the Nester and she chastised me for not telling her sooner. Ashley went back and read every post the Nester ever wrote. She's that good.

So go check her out. I warn you that once you go over there, you'll be addicted and you'll want to re-do your whole house. Enjoy!

Oh my gosh, can you write a post about me every day? And then email it to me? It makes me feel so important, I mean so good.

Oh and I love your blog name. If I had a personal blog I would SO be mad that I didn't think up that name!

This is quite an endorsement. I feel like I'm on the cusp of a new addiction.

And you even got a comment from The Nester... so lucky.

I wish she lived next door to me, and that we could garage sale together, and then I could have her over for lunch while she made my house cute.

I promise I am calling you tomorrow with that number. Sorry the week got away from me. I am excited to check this new blog out. I love blogs that inspire me to be creative.

You have arrived now that The Nester commented. I can totally see Mandee and The Nester being best friends--I wish they were neighbors too. She really does have a fabulous blog and for a couple weeks there I was obsessed with painting my rental kitchen cabs and covering the sides with beadboard wallpaper.

Who else are you holding out on me?

I don't think that last sentence made any sense. You held out on me regarding The Nester. What other fabulous blogs are you keeping secret?

That's what I meant to say.

I CAN'T wait to read this new blog. There are so many blank white walls in our new place and I have no idea what to do with them. When we get our S dumped in the house, I will then have some time to ponder every word of the Nester. Thanks Brooke.

Ashley tried to get me hooked. I like her, but I'm too lazy to decorate and then re-decorate my house. I'm lame.

She really does have a cute blog. I love her philosophy of making your house the way you want it to be, rather than trying to satisfy someone' else's sense of style or use. It makes me feel reinforced for wanting to take apart our dining room table and just use that space. We never eat there.
