Dear Santa, I Want it All

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good pretty good girl. At a minimum, I am a single mom doing a half-ass job raising four really good kids. That's gotta count for something right? Since, I have no husband in the picture, I am counting on you to bring me something awesome this Christmas. If money were no object, I would love any of the following:

Disclaimer:  This is not a veiled attempt to get anyone out there to buy me anything.  This is what I would buy myself if I had the means...carry on.

1. iphone (in white).  Part of the gift would be that I would not have to physically enter the Apple store or phone store and deal with the dudes in there to buy the thing. I have heard the 4S is good. I have no idea. I am currently operating with a dinosaur phone with no internet. I know, I know. And we thought the pioneers had it rough!

2. New bedding from Pottery Barn. Remember, I said we are pretending price was no object. I can currently see through my comforter. It has been through the war. I want to do a duvet and duvet cover this time.  There is no rush on this. As long as I get new bedding when I remarry..I am good.

3. If I were to get said bedding, I would need some neat art for the wall in back of my bed. These are ridiculously over priced. But something similar would be awesome.

4.  GPS navigator from Costco.  Right now, I really have no need for this bad boy.  But if I ever move, or go on a roadie, I am going to NEED this.  I get lost driving to Suncrest--Gourmet Dinner Night friends can attest.

5.  Panini maker.  It doesn't have to be anything special..the Sunbeam one at Target will do.  Now that Hagermann's is gone from my life, I have a need for a turkey pomodoro sandwich with jalepeno jelly about once a week.  The only thing that keeps me from buying a panini maker is my history with appliances.  There was a time about 4 years ago, when I decided I needed a breadmaker.  I had visions of the scent of fresh bread wafting through my home.  Sam gave me a very nice one for Christmas.  It got used exactly once....when Sam made a loaf of wheat bread.  I am debating selling it on KSL.  So, naturally, I have a fear of bringing another guilt-producing appliance into my life.

6.  Gift cards to any girlie lunch places..Zupas, Rumbi, Blue Lemon, In n Out..what you say? In N Out ain't girly?  It is.

7.  Gift Card to Sanctuary Day spa.  There is a dude there who gives the best massages on the planet.  I am not exagerating.  They are a combination sports/relaxation massage.  He stretches you while he massages.  A-MAZ-ING.

8.  Bike Rack for my car.  This one is called the Saris bones and it holds three bikes and would work on my mini van.

But at the end of the day, I would just be happy if I get to spend Christmas with the people I love most, my family.  but the iphone wouldn't hurt.

                                                                                                                             Yours Truly,

                                                                                                                              Brooke

I love my panini maker and I am totally not an appliance person! Justify it like this-- you can use it to make grilled cheese for the kids too. That's what I do!

Now I know I am not the last one standing without an iphone. My 11 year old has even convinced me that ALL her friends have one.

The 4s is sweet. Good luck with that.

Not that I am crafty or have any urge to do anything crafty, I know Pinterest could do some wall hangings that are similar. Again, good luck with that.

Hope you are feeling better.

This is like de-ja-vu. Brookie always had a LONG Christmas list posted on the fridge as early as September. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. . .I gave Sammie & Ryan & Luke some toy catalogs to peruse one day (to keep them entertained for a few minutes)and when they were done, I noticed Sammie had circled the things she wanted, and wrote on the cover, "Samantha pages 13 and 10."

You have been a good girl and you do deserve it all!

I just upgraded from my dinosaur phone to the iPhone. I claimed it as my b-day present (2 months early!) but it is a "big" one for me...at least I am saying it is!

My mom bought that exact bedding from PB a few months ago. She had seen your bedding at one point (maybe my bridal shower? or on the blog?) and loved it! I guess you two have similar taste in bedding.

She did a wreath instead of wall art. It all turned out super cute. I'll have to send you a pic when you are redoing yours.

If you get the iPhone you don't need the GPS...just sayin'

You have been talking about a panini maker for a while, so you definitely need to mark that off the list.

Who doesn't need gift cards for lunches and spa days?

The bike rack totally makes sense. Cam and I throw ours in the back of the Escape. We always end up yelling at each other trying to get them in and out of the car. Kind of defeats the purpose of spending time together on the bike ride when we are both ornery about loading and unloading the dang bikes.

The iPhone changed my life, and I didn't even want it. It's gps is great. Tyler has the 4s and it's camera is better than our $400 canon. Add a cute iPhone cover to the list--it's a miracle my kids havent cracked mine yet. That bedding reminds me of the bedding you have!

I blame my iPhone for all those it's.

Get the iphone. I inherited Brigham;s when his work gave them blackberries and he couldn't justify having both, and even though I objected to him buying the thing in the first place, it has honestly changed the way I live. So worth it. No looking back. And I am so cheap that at one point in the not too distant past I was using a phone I bought off ebay for 5 bucks that was fake wood and missing buttons such that I had to use a tiny wand to depress the keys. And I thought I didn't care.

Great idea about the bike rack for the car. Just put in on my to buy list for Brigham, the hardest person to shop for ever because all he wants are gadgets which he just buys himself anyway.

if you want the panini maker, just get it. It can't be that $$ can it? But I agree with your hesitation--I gave away our sandwich cooker thing for lack of use and lack of storage space.

I hope you get it all especially the iPhone and the panini maker. Both could be considered either indulgent or sensible, and I opt for sensible. :)

I just got the white iphone 4S. I topped it off by adding an adorable cover and it's pretty much the best thing I have ever purchased. Yo're right. You totally need it. Go get it.

OMG--this reminds me of the sandwich maker I insisted on buying in 8th grade that was BOUND TO CHANGE MY LIFE. It didn't deliver.

I'm currently torn between the iPhone and the Galaxy. Decisions, decisions.

I hope Santa delivers! You deserve it.
