Fall Favorites

You wouldn't know it by the way I dress but I am a shopper. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I love to know what is out there. Here are my favorite things that I have picked up recently:

Caldrea Counter Top Cleaner Spray: This one is from Target..usually on an end cap in the cleaning section. I am a sucker for anything with orange scent..I find it invigorating. This stuff is a steal for around $5.99.

Black pencil skirt: While you are at Target (pronounced "Tar-jay") swing over to the jr's section and grab yourself a black Mossimo pencil skirt for $19.99. Honestly, best purchase I have made in a long time. My fashionista friend Nicole told us about them at GDN last year and we all ran to get them. When she speaks, we listen. They have them again this year. Trust me. Put it on and everyone will think you lost 10 pounds. And while you are at it, grab a Merona cardi. They are my favs. I promise the skirt is better in real life:

Sammie's new bow holder. This is supposed to be a pinboard from Pottery Barn Kids. I was looking for something like this forever to put all of her bows on and actually display (not something for the back of her door.) I was planning to make one and then had a "come to Jesus" with myself and knew I would never get around to it. Of course, I paid good money for this and then found it the next week at Down East. Bygones.

Spray Bottles instead of water guns. Hello. My friend Linde clued me into this a few weeks ago. Where has this been all my life. When Ryan has a friend over, I send them outside with a spray bottle and let them go to town spraying the swing set, bugs and each other. So much easier for little hands to use than big ole' water guns.

Snicker's Peanut Butter treats: My new addiction. Think of a Snickers mating with a Butterfinger. They make delicious babies.

Save Ferris Shirt: You all know my love of Mr. Ferris Bueller. I actually think Sam looks like him. Ashley sent this shirt for Buster and it makes me extremely happy. I believe she picked it up at Target as well.

Jamba Juice Strawberry Nirvana Smoothie: I hate to drink my calories but I make exceptions for this smoothie. This one is low cal and I have them add protein powder and immunity boost. My friend Greg drinks one when he feels like he is getting sick. I am a hypochondriac and always feel like I am getting sick. I am going to drink these babies all winter.

Mustard Yellow Sweater: I wear this thing like a uni. Everyone asks me where I got it. I actually picked up mine at Nordstrom. I throw it on over tees or anything really. I feel like it elevates my outfit. Now I am in the market for a mustard colored handbag. Let me know if someone sees a cute one.

Sammie's entire fall wardrobe: I love the changing of the seasons just so I can bust out the new duds. I spend more money on Sammie than the rest of us combined. It is an illness..but doesn't she look cute? I hope Sam is nodding. Outfit from Gymboree. I am obsessed with Janie and Jack's Bonjour black and white line. Love love love.

And for anyone with a girl...go to Costco and get their pettiskirts..this one has sparkles in it and is so cute for Halloween:

Okay..now it's your turn..what is your fall favorite item?

It's true that the best reason to go to a Jamba is when one is feeling under the weather or at least if you feel like you're coming down with something.

That probably isn't very helpful advice though for anyone that truly is a hypochondriac (or thinks that they are).

It is well-known, however, that the Jamba blend with the most recuperative properties is the Power-sized Caribbean Passion with Immunity Boost.

It also happens to be the tastiest.

I love a good Jamba but only partake when I'm pregnant. I am going to have to try that low cal one. I've been sick for so long that I'll try anything!

Sammie looks adorable, as always.

I like that your mustard sweater dresses up any outfit. My roxie hoodie has the reverse effect.

This post makes me want to go blow the wad.

You look amazing in mustard. I do not. But it is so cool. I love the Ferris shirt. I've got to have it. Sammie looks perfect and worth every penny.

Paint brush and water...send them outside to paint rocks and swing sets etc.

Sorry to make a comment when you don't know me. (I see from your law school reunion pic that we have a ton of mutual friends though) I just have to tell you that I love the 'Save Ferris' shirt. I have GOT to run and get one today for my 3 year old daughter. Her name is Sloane--so yeah, I guess you could say I'm sort of a fan of the movie.

I started grocery shopping at Target a few months ago. I have now decided this is a bad idea because items such as purses, tights, scarves, clothing, etc. somehow sneak into my cart when I am not looking.

I too love Sammie's wardrobe. When I was putting her to bed the other night, I noticed some cute outfits poking out of her closet. She told me about each outfit and what pieces went together. I think I need to take the girl shopping with me. She's got style!

This really does make me want to go shopping, for a mustard cari. That is darling! I live for a good shopping post! (I'm getting my first shellac mani based on your recommendations this week.)

This is my favorite kind of blog post! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm on my way to Target to go buy that skirt...and a fountain DC. :)

Firstly: I loathe people with older children (than mine) giving me advice.
Secondly: I am about to do it to you.
Take Sammie and the boys and shop shop shop. You and your children always look so gorgeous and stylish.
On the weekend Lulu and I shopped (for her) for 4 hours and had one singlet to show for it. She vetoed anything that was pretty and not short and I vetoed anything that was ridiculous tight, short or had women in bondage on the shirts!!!
This is more a reflection that there is very little appropriate clothing for 11 years olds rather than her wish to look like a hooker (cos she doesn’t). So enjoy all the pink and frills.

Sorry for the novel I should have just done a post ;-)

Wow that stupid long comment and I didn’t even tell you my fall fave.
I really wanted Skinny Cargos this past winter... no doubt they would have made my life complete. Oh well there is always next year.

You've got to get Sammie into modeling. You know, an agency like "UNO." She would love it!

You always make me laugh! I think the mating of Snickers and Butterfinger is genius...but it will be dangerous for me to have yet another treat on my list of favorites!

I am so NOT a shopper...maybe if I were thin and had money I would be. Dang it.
