What are Fuggs you ask?
They are Fake Uggs. But they are also called Fuggs because they are fugly. Up until this point, I have never had a need for Fuggs in my life. But today something changed. And for the record, I don't for one minute think these are cute. They are fugtastic beyond words. But I need a pair, just the same.
You see, I go to spinning once a week at the gym, where I change into spinning shoes and in the summer I wear flip flops to and from the gym on those days. In the winter, I would love a pair of cozy boots to slip on my bare feet and not put back on my Nikes. Ditto for pilates class.
The Fuggs will also go nicely with my uni on cold winter mornings when I drive the carpool to school.
So I brought home three pairs of Fuggs to compare. I can really smother a project like this. I spent 30 minutes with Buster in DSW trying on everything they had to offer. Then I went to Famous Footwear and finished at Payless.
DSW's best:

DSW's best:
Famous Footwears' best (I would wear them all the way up without the fur showing):
Payless' best:
I am leaning toward the Famous Footwear pair because they are an inch taller in the shaft and a little less bulky and fugtastic. I am just a bit worried that the sole might not hold up to the snow. They almost seem like a slipper sole. Behold:
Plus, I got them for a mere 20 bucks after working the kid over at the register with three different coupons.
Okay ladies, what say you of Fuggs? Do you all own them? Do you think they are as fugly as I do? Do I need a better sole? Before I wear them outside..is there another brand I need to consider? Talk to me.

I like the Famous Footwear brand but I don't know anything about dealing with snow. My Fuggs are from Target and they are for the sole purpose of keeping my ever cold feet warm and they do the job.
Bummed you deleted your last post. That car was awesome!
I TOTALLY believe in Fuggs. In Iowa, it rarely gets about 10 degrees in the winter. Fashion goes out the window and I rock those babies EVERY DAY.
I have a pair of Bearpaws that I love. They are warm and the hold up well to the snow and are just squishy to wear. (if that makes sense)
I support 100%!!!
I may be tainted by the trends, but I actually think the sweater-knit famous footwear ones are cute. I don't mind the fur. They sound so cozy--ginormous slippers. I believe these are what they call man repellers--fashion that women like but men hate (see also, maxi dresses).
So funny, I've been looking for some boots for the same purpose! I just need some boots to get me to and from the gym, and for days I don't get out of my gym clothes and don't want to sport gym shoes all day. Now you've done my homework!
I like all three and think that you can't go wrong with any of them. I'd say go with the best price. Speaking of price, I'd love to hear how you got away with $20.
Do you not wear your socks to spin?
Lisa,
Go to famousfootwear.com and print off the coupon. It is good for 20%off plus bogo. I then used an additional $10.00 off 50 for doing a survey.
Somehow, the boots came to 20 bucks. Score.
I have some bearpaws, too. And I don't care what anyone thinks. They are the comfiest things I own. I think I'm going to go put 'em on right now. . .
And oh yeah, I like the Payless ones.
I went for the same sweater looking ones from Skechers. Only problem I have is wearing them now too often because of the comfort. And because of the extra wear I will say that my only complaint is that lint/sweater balls have started to form. :)
what's wrong with regular Uggs?
BTW, people wear those all over the place in Southern California even though it doesn't get cold.
I believe our receptionist has been known to wear them to the office.
Greg..nothing is wrong with regular Uggs except they are three times the price. I can barely justify these.
Kelly, I looked at the Sketchers Farenheits and didn't get them and I can't remember why. I am thinking about getting those instead because they look like they have more traction.
Mom, I will look at the Bearpaws as well.
I have nothing to add but I love these posts.
Elizabeth, I think of you when I look at Uggs because they come from Oz. Wish I could afford the real deal.
Lisa, I do wear socks while I am spinning but then take off the sweaty socks at the end and throw them I my gym bag...because I know you were really dying to know that.
Yes to the FF ones. I have both Fuggs from Costco, and a quilted pair like the FF ones from Ross. I love the ones from Ross. Adorbs with skinny jeans. Just don't think you're getting away with those puppies at BYU-I!
You crack me up.
As a native So Cal-ian (yeah I made that up), I grew up wearing Uggs, often to early morning seminary. They're the best! They look especially spectacular with jammy bottoms. As an adult, I wear them every winter morning, usually with wool socks and a variation of clothing that should not be worn out of the house, but is. An absolute must have :) I like the FF sweater ones, but the Costco ones are hardier. Just saying...
I actually like the Payless ones and since I have a 40% off coupon to use there this week, I believe I will be purchasing some. I don't generally think this style of shoe is cute, but they are practical.
When it comes to footwear, nothing is more important to me that comfort. I have enough urging me into explosive anger, I do not need my shoes to add to it. I am about to lose all credibility here, but I don't even think they are unattractive. I wear slippers all the time and it is with regret that I exchange them for regular (very comfortable) footwear to go outside. I would love to pick up some of these! But I think Ashley is right; men hate them. I know Brigham does.
I'm too disappointed for words. Oh Brooke. How about some wool knee-hi's with puffy paint treads. I'd even make them for you?
Brookie, I cracked up when I read this post. I've always made fun of the weirdos in CA who wear Uggs and shorts, but I recently had a change of heart. I needed comfy, warm shoes for New York and, at the very last minute, decided to bite the bullet and get a pair of Uggs boots. I'd like to bear my testimony of these boots. I could do an ad for these babies. I probably walked 20 miles in three days and they never let me down. I don't care how they look - it's all about comfort.
I love my Uggs and I do think they are cute. There, you have my two cents. :)
Fuggs from Costco all the way. I got black ones that look just like the real deal/the DSW ones. They have a good sole for ice and snow.
I just broke them in yesterday on my drive from TX to AZ and they were perfect for running in and out of a gas station for a pit stop and then taking them off in the car again. They are totally fugly but I love them. They are loyal and warm and all a Fugg should be.
That may have come out wrong....out of all the boots you presently own, I like the Payless ones and the DSWs. :)
Third try's the charm, good grief. This is EM!
Though I have a deep love and loyalty to DSW, I also feel the famous footwear ones are best, followed closely behind by the Payless. Lands End has a similar pair right now, but also in optiosn of purple and grey, and I am oh-so-tempted. I thing Uggs, Fuggs, etc. are hideous so I haven't partaken (partook? whatever) but I do love the ones from Lands End. 'Tis the season for 40 percent off.
They're all heinous.
