The People Have Spoken

You want me back! I'm flattered. I didn't even realize how long I had been gone. Life has been crazy...like really crazy..like Christmas crazy on 'roids times five. I haven't even been watching the Bachelor..that is how crazy my life has been. I miss the Bachelor. Should I be watching?

My divorce became final while I was on my girls' trip with my mom and Sammie. It was bittersweet news. I cried but I also felt relieved. The next chapter of my life can begin. The big announcement is I have started dating. And it has taken over my life. This really is a post for another day because there has been some hilarious stuff and sad stuff and dating is a completely different animal the second time around..especially in your thirties with kids, and all the technology (think texting, messaging, facebook). It takes a lot of emotional energy and time but it is a lot of fun. That post is coming. Get excited!

But mostly, I am just trying to be a good mom, dragging my trash to the gym, dealing with divorce odds and ends like getting the utilities changed over to my name (just little pain in the butt stuff), making time for friends and family, churchy stuff, and making dinner here and there (Thank Heavens for fast food!)

But I haven't given up on the blog (or your blogs!) I need to get back in. I am always writing blog posts in my head but never get around to doing them..like am I the only one who is completely sad about Heidi Klum and Seal?

I have always wondered how they ended up together but they seemed totally real and in love. I always take celebrity divorces hard. I should learn..but I never do...I am still trying to come to terms with Nick and Jessica!

So don't give up on me! I have some really fun stuff coming down the pike. My friend's dad owns all the Corner Bakery's in SLC and I am going to be doing a really cool giveaway for him! And I have another give-away in the works...maybe something I have done in the past...we'll see. Check back soon!

Oh man, can't wait to hear about the dating stuff. I would have NO game if I had to jump back in right now. I'm sure you're a hot ticket item though :)

Glad to see a post from you!

Great Scott, you're dating?! I can't even imagine the horror of that, but I suppose when you're cute, stylish and oh so fun it must not be nearly as bad. My sister is dating now too and it freaks me out.

You sound like you're doing well and I'm so glad of that.

I'm sad about Heidi and Seal, especially with so many kids involved.

I have been thinking a lot about you and looking forward to an update. I am glad to hear that the finalization of your divorce brought some relief to you. I love that you are already dating again. I have come up with a little list of eligible bachelors for you but they are all here in the east. I can't wait to read about your dating experiences and hope there are not too many like your friend Heather's, even though hers were so funny and brought such joy into my day.

I am so glad you found 5 mins to blog. I missed ya... and I realised how much I think about you (creepy no?)
D and I went away for 4 days and the whole time I was WWBD (What Would Brooke Do). I forgot my suck in knickers for the big party ... WWBD? I needed a nail polish colour to go with my outfit - WWBD.

I am stoked to hear you are dating and I echo the sentiment that you would be a huge hot ticket item in the dating game :-)

Lastly I am pimping my blog again (unattractive no?) I am down to 2 readers (hello Greg and Em) and since they are both your friends I thought I would throw it open again. If any one wants an invite its bearlulubrooks@yahoo.com.au

I know I have no shame.

See you
Ex

Am I just a weird, old woman to be looking forward to reading your and Ashley's blogs????(I don't think that sentence is grammatically correct, but I can't figure out how to say it!) Anyway, I'm glad you're BAAAAACK!

I'm proud of you dating....I have nightmares about that. You shouldn't, though. You are a super catch and gorgeous to boot. Fun to see you yesterday....I'm dying for dating details.

OMG. I am SO glad you are back. I get that Blogging is a dying breed, but I need to hear more from you.
I too, am still distraught over Nick and Jessica so you can imagine the devastation over Heal. Tragic.

Bachelor is awful this season. It's the biggest train wreck I've ever seen and he totally deserves it. It's almost enough to make me go back to blogging just so I can share my opinions with the world.

I cannot wait to hear about dating. I hope you have some gems of stories to tell!

xoxo

Am I the only one who doesn't think dating sounds horrible? (Is Tyler reading this--it's not what you think.) Maybe I've just heard enough from you to know that there really are some great guys out there--the well is not dry!!!

Glad you posted again.

I second Kimmie...maybe we could recreate a Jamestown 12 night, get all the "lovely ladies" (aka Pillars of strength and beauty) together, and you could give us all the lowdown! Sure love you Brookie! :-)

Blog reader here-I thought something/someone was missing from my usual mommy blog rotation! My summer/fall was super crazy I finally had some peace once January came around. I can't imagine continued craziness!
Congrats on dating! Majority of my friends are still dating, I suck at giving them advice.
And um yes I am still confused about Nick and Jessica...especially now she is pregnant and not married, which is no big deal but like different then the nick/jessica days, so what happened?
Heidi and Seal ALWAYS confused me too, but i was like so confused w/them i thought for sure they were the exception to the hollywood rule and would not break up, but they proved me wrong.
Thanks for your blog, take care super mom!

I am still in shock that you are excited about dating. Am I the only one that goes on weird dates... and has been going on weird dates for the last nearly 20 years? Gasp... I've been in the dating world for almost 20 years...

I have missed you! I was wondering if you're okay so I'm glad you're back. Don't do that to us again.

Dating! Yikes! I'm living vicariously through my babysitter these days so now I have you to entertain me, too!

I can't wait to hear the dating stories either! They can be sooo interesting!!

Well, you are definitely missing the drama on Bachelor--I'm sooo missing your posts right now! I would love to hear what you have to say about Courtney, aka the "model." She is so full of herself it's amazing! She put a spell on Ben! The only thing that I can say to describe the effect she has on Ben is think Ursula from the Little Mermaid, when she sings with Ariel's stolen voice! All the girl are trying to warn Ben about her and he even pulls her aside to question her right before the rose ceremony. A few of the girls were getting a little hopeful thinking he would be sending her home, but then, shock of all shocks, he questions her and she just spouts out nothings and he is won over again. Kind of like when Ursula is talking to Prince Eric, who just nods in a trance. Seriously?! Wake up stupid!! ;) haha

Wish you were watching it! I don't think it's too late to witness Courtney's inflated ego. I would love to hook her up with Bentley!
