Winter Wonderland

I had to force myself to think of a positive title for this post. I wanted to call it "Winter Blues." But then I figured I would need that title sometime in mid-January to describe my fatigue with winter--today is only the first day of it. Let's be very clear--the salad days are over. Winter is here.

When I woke up, my first thought was that I left this outside

Luke and Sammie were thrilled with the snow.

They made snow angels

They played on our crappy swingset

They put snow in their hats

Then they came inside. They were out there for a solid 12 minutes.

Why is that always the case! It takes me longer to get on ALL of their gear, and they are done in like 5 minutes! It drives me nuts!

When I looked out the window this morning, I groaned. My kids asked me, "Why did you just make that sound?" They couldn't understand, they were thrilled. And so was I when they played outside in it for an hour! What a pleasant surpise..last year it was the 5 minutes you guys talked about. Thank goodness they can get themselves dressed these days (for the most part!) If the snow will entertain them, I guess it's ok...for awhile. :)

I hear you Brooke. The same thing happened at my house. Gracie and Ethan came in after 5 minutes and we had to drag Elsa inside kicking and screaming. The girl is totally nuts, she loves the snow. I think she is crazy. It took me 1 and 1/2 hrs to get to work today. Yuck!

And that is why I don't live in UT! We love to play in it, but not live in it-which is also why I DID NOT want to move to WA. Isn't it a little early for snow?

The kids look cute in their snowsuits. Isn't it a miracle that they have each other to play with out there? Imagine if you had to go out! It's still warm here so it's fun to see the pics of snow and have a better view of your life. I'm lovin the blog.

The kids do look adorable. Bring them to my house tomorrow and we'll make a snowman. That'll take about 15 minutes.

Oh wow! What is that white stuff anyway? No wonder I had to put on my sweat shirt today. Maybe I wont have to mow the lawn Friday. It was such a beautiful, crisp blue skies, fall day today! I really need to weed. See how lucky you are. Your yard work is done till spring! Enjoy the seasons! I miss them!

I had to look twice! That is amazing!

And as always...the kids look so cute.

The one good thing about the snow is that it covers the weeds and ugly yard--I don't do yardwork (unfortunately for our neighbors, neither does Sam.)

I spoke with Christine and she said it is feeling very "Holidayish" with snow everywhere. It makes me long for seasons. I shouldn't complain, many people pay a crap-load to live in the weather I live in, but it's not what I want(I miss family the most). Snow, fall leaves, spring growth...I miss it all.

That is just plain wrong. If I were you, I'd start booking a cruise in the Caribbean. You're going to need it come January.

Agh!! This makes me scared for our Christmas visit to Utah.

On an unrelated note, you will probably find my recent post as funny as Ashley did:

Don't fear the sizzle!
