Sam is a Hopeless Romantic

Sam came home last night and told me he had a Christmas present for me. This is what it was:

A closer look at the box:

I stopped him before he started wrapping it. I like practical gifts but this is a little much. I have referred him back to my list and counseled him not to depart from it. I always love to read my friend Laura's blog posts about how her husband has strayed from her list and it never ends well, like this time.

bwahahaha. I'm laughing so hard right now.
Ben should watch out...looks like Sam might give him a run for his money!

Maybe he's just trying to throw you off the scent. I'll bet you are hard to surprise (cause I know I am!). But that doesn't mean our husbands can stop trying!

I have created picture books for guys I've been dating at Christmas before. So, I got the deep fryer I wanted, but no engagement ring. I think he thought that was a joke. He is no longer with me.

I hope you are joking about him wanting to wrap that thing up!

Maybe it's time to tell him that you'll buy your own presents and wrap them up and put them under the tree yourself!

I think you should get Sam the garbage can and camera for your purse! Better yet, you should buy Sam the boots you want :)

Oh... my... goodness!!!! This is way way way too funny and oh so worthy of a post!!! Thank you for the early morning giggles!!! I think your husband is one of the funniesst around. That is simply wonderful. P.S. I got a CUSHIONED toilet seat from my FATHER-IN-LAW last Christmas! Top that!

I just had a moment of inspiration. I have a "christmas" gift that will go along perfectly with a new toilet seat...hee.hee.hee. I'd better call Sam asap!

You are obviously the queen of his life. Maybe he thought you needed a throne?

But it's **elongated** and that makes it romantic.

Regular seat=meat thermometer.

Elongated seat=crazy in love

Merry Christmas!

While the toilet seat wasn't technically a Christmas present, I hoped that it would somehow be considered as part of Brooke's Christmas haul. Just a cherry on top of the digital camera and perfume. I was at Home Depot and while passing through the toilet section I stumbled upon a sale. It was a Christmas miracle!

Although I would like to explain why a new toilet seat is needed, I will stay silent--in the spirit of the season. If pressed, however, I will share with the group the countless times I have been told, "We need to get out of here!," by my wife while exiting a business and/or temple with the urgency of Bonny & Clyde.
