I went to lunch with ten very fun ladies this week. (Marni left before we got the picture.) I love nothing more than sitting down to yummy girl food (salads, soup, sandwiches, mint brownie) and laughing about all the latest gossip and silly stuff women talk about. I swear I could be disfellowshiped for half the stuff I say when I get a few diet cokes in me.
Earlier in the week, I went to a picnic lunch with four of my friends from my old ward. It had been years and years since I've seen these girls and it was so fun to reminisce about the old stories--I would say "Remember when Robbie Brown ate the stick of butter at the etiquette dinner when we were fourteen" and they remember! Old friends are the best kind!
Last night, I finally got the blog links on my side bar up and going. Give me a break, it's only been 9 months since I started my blog. Anyway, I realized that as many of my friends went private, they basically fell off my radar. Bloglines doesn't pick-up private blogs and thus, I was really bad at checking all of them regularly.
But last night, as I was adding the private blogs to my sidebar, I checked up on my friends. It was as if I was having a virtual lunch with all my friends who have private blogs. We laughed and talked about the crazy stuff our kids are doing and caught up with each other. I vow to never get that behind again on checking private blogs--I have no excuse now that they are each just a click away.
That is what I love about blogging. You can stay in touch with people in a way that is not possible through just emailing or facebook. You really get a glimpse into their lives. I have met some really fun girls through blogging--people I would have never met any other way and now they are dear friends. (yes, I just said dear friends--like I'm seventy years old!) So all of my friends without blogs--Lori, Lisa, Noelle, Kristen, Joy, sister-in-law Sarah, sister-in-law Katie, cousin Kelly, I could go on and on--get cracking!

I agree...I love blogs. In some ways it eliminates the need for Christmas cards....half the people I send them to read my blog and know more about my life than I would ever put in a Christmas card to begin with! So then what do I say to them?????????? :)
That disfellowshipping line cracked me up. Hilarious.
I love lunching...but every time I leave and think how loud and obnoxious I am. I'll blame the diet coke.
In memory of old friends and good times I am very much looking forward to your MJ tribute. Certainly you intend to post about your Thriller days? Come on, don't let an old friend down.
I'm with Natalie. . .you channeled MJ on that Thriller dance. It was amazing - you looked and moved just like him - even the costume. You'll have to resurrect it. (that was "Bad.")
I "third" the MJ stuff.....I thought for sure you'd have an ode' just for him by now!
PS. I'm still so upset I will miss Monday, be sure to tell everyone hi for me!
First of all, it's Amy logged in as Micah.
It was SO FUN to see those girls from Canyon View on here. I haven't seen them in ages, especially Cami (that IS Cami, right?). I ran into Stacey recently and think I have seen Natalee and Kim since high school.
Anyway, fun that you got together and reminisced.
So I found your blog from facebook and have been lurking until I saw the picture of all my friends from the old ward! I am so jealous that you were all together! What a fun time!
Running into you on our wedding day was the best part of the whole day! :) My mom must be addicted to Briar Hollow too--she's been trying to quit for 2 years now!
It's fun to see the pic of the girls from the 3rd ward. I love reminiscing with childhood friends--those people know you in a way no one else ever will. Your other friends are cute and dressed well, too. I agree that everyone, esp. Katie and Sarah, need to get on the blog bandwagon! The blogosphere makes me feel much closer to friends and family who blog, for which I thank them. Same goes for those who comment!
P.S. Cami Petty is gorgeous.
How fun to see that picture of those elementary school friends. I actually ran into Cami at Old Navy right after your lunch. I was so embarrassed, we had just come straight from the pool, looking lovely. We (my 5 kids and I) didn't look cute, but she sure did. :)
totally laughing about robbie brown right now. see if i was not checking out your blog right now then i wouldn't be think of the browns and all those funny memories. so blogging is totally worth it.....
sidenote-i didn't see you at swimming. we have 8:00 tomorrow...that will be fun.
Brooke! I'm glad you found my blog...every time you see my mom she tells me all about it! Your kids are adorable!
Lunch and friends is the best. No guilt and good times.
I am sad though, I was just checking to see what happened on the bachelorette. You have let me down! LOL
Here, here. I like that I am a blog friend. I will take that, and be happy! ;)
I loved seeing you, but I hate that picture of me!!!
