City Slickers

Monday night we went to the home of one of Sam's partners for a BBQ. This guy lives on serious horse property in Alpine and my kids had the time of their lives.

There was a big horse and a little white pony. The pony's name was Diamonds and had glitter combed through her hair. Her entire coat shimmered. Can you guess which horse Sammie took a liking to?

My kids have never riden horses other than little ponies hooked to the wheel at Thanksgiving Point. Luke loved being on a real horse.

Sammie was all business on the ride.

We got to the BBQ early so my kids rode the horses for awhile before any other kids showed up. When the other kids came, my kids were mad because they kind of thought the horses were theirs for the night.

Ryan just wanted to play in this wagon...and on the tractor...and in the cooler...and everywhere else. As you can see from the picture, I'm now focusing my hopes and dreams for a ballerina on Ryan since Sammie let me down.

This is me wishing I lived on horse property in Alpine.

On the way home, Sammie told me she knows what she wants for Christmas but she's not telling me yet. I hope she likes stuffed animals.

Good-bye horsies!

AGHHH! All I read was blah-blah PONIES blah-blah-blah PONIES. I want a pony so bad it hurts. Your kids are lucky ducks!

I love the woman who thought to put glitter in Diamonds' hair.

It is so, so appropriate that Sammie is going to ask for a pony for Christmas. I love it.

I want to eat up little Ryan. Hey, Bailey has a fairly decent arabesque..maybe they can be partners.

Lucky kids! Great pics! good luck with the battle of a "real" horse for Christmas, I will pray for you. My mom is dreaming of Bailey are her arabesque's. She might try it but would then proceed to bite anyone who would try and help her.

What a cute ballerino your little boy is--may he fulfill your greatest dreams as such. :)

Ryan is adorable. The kids looked like they had a fun time on the horses. You can't go back to Thanksgiving point any more, you've spoiled them with the nice horses.

They are brave. My kids would never get on a horse. Let's be honest I wouldn't either.

Brooke, you wouldn't like horse husbandry. You have to feed those things like at least once a week and let's be honest, a horse is like a big dog with hard feet--not your type of animal.

That ballerina comment wtih the arabesque photo was so hilarious! My favorite, though, was that you hope your daughter likes stuffed animals. You and Ashley come up with the perfect one-liners. Now I sound like my dad. Oh well.

Ryan's arabesque looks more like a back attitude* to me--what with the bent leg and all.

*I had to look this up, couldn't remember "attitude."

I have to say I can't imagine you living on horse property, Brooke! That is so perfect that the white horse had glitter in it's mane. I'm sure Sammie was in heaven!
